Bridging the artistic and technical sides of musical creativity

Being not from a musical background, I found that a lot of the terminology in this book was a little over my head. At the same time, being from a technical background though, other terminology was quite familiar. Essentially, having worked a little bit in the entertainment industry(specifically in the video game and film industries), I've noticed that there has always been somewhat of a knowledge and communication gap between those on the creative teams and those on the technical teams. I appreciated this book because it helps bridge that gap(at least for music making) and aids in the development of beautiful music which amalgamates both creativity and technology, especially in the ever-changing landscape of music trends. I'd recommend this book to anyone who's starting off a career in the music industry.

Really useful advice

I like to make music with my friends on the weekends. We have a punk ska band that plays at clubs and bars all over the Southeast. I have been looking for tips on how to make the most of our writing/production sessions and this ebook fit the bill. Looking at some of our older wasn't something that occurred to me and neither was creating a custom project template. I look forward to Roy Wilkenfeld's other books since I got so much good information from this one.

Technical and Creative

I think my title speaks for itself. The author mixed technical productivity with the creative juices of a musician. It gave tips on how to motivate yourself in making music and how could you get yourself flowing. Included inside are basic reminders in making music as well. Technical terms are explained as much as possible for those who are starting out. And as the author said, write down the title first! I recommend it.
