Un Libro Muy Fácil de Leer y Seguir para Aprender a Escribir Un Libro

El libro de Sento Lorente es simplemente fantástico.

Como me sentí muy atraído por su lectura super fácil, cometí el pecado de leerlo todo de corrido, cuando el autor en realidad nos pide ir implementando los pasos e instrucciones de cada capítulo antes de pasar al siguiente, de forma que en verdad nos hagamos las mangas de la camisa para arriba y nos pongamos a investigar de qué va a ir nuestro libro, hacer el esquema, diseñar la portada, escribir el libro, editarlo y publicarlo... pero ese fue mi error y sugiero que no sea el tuyo

Lo que si recomiendo es comprar este libro y seguirlo como se dice "al pie de la letra".

¿Por qué recomiendo este libro?

Es el primer libro sobre como escribir y publicar un libro y que realmente vale su precio 100% para mi, ya que sobre el mismo tema he comprado varios más que son francamente más de lo mismo, y aunque algunos de ellos tienen al menos una buena edición, otros parecen escritos sin el más mínimo cuidado de los errores ortográficos más elementales y ni que decir del estilo gramatical (y se supone que nos van a enseñar a escribir un libro y a tener éxito como autor).

Este libro de Sento Lorente me parece que es la grata excepción. es muy recomendable y vale la pena leerlo.

I had borrowed a speed reading book from the local library that has just been lying around. In contrast i read this end to end in one sitting.

Very good common sense approach and the structure lends itself elegantly to apply in practice.

I liked the way some of the ideas were presented , specially sub vocalisation.

Overall time well spent.Thankyou

Great book! This book was extremely helpful. Way beyond common sense! So many tips, tricks and advice. I've read it twice now because it contained so much info. I had no idea there where so many resources available to assist with speed reading, which the book covers in detail. I would highly recommend this book. Well written, practical and easy to read!

Lots of detailed techniques and info

This book has a lot of details on the important techniques for speed reading. I really enjoyed reading the part about vocalization and how to prevent it. That alone was well worth the price of this book. I also like the fact that it shows you some of the software that you can use to improve your reading speed. I highly recommend it.

Elizabeth Bram is the author and illustrator of eight previous picture books. She is also an internationally exhibited painter. Ms. Bram lives in Baldwin, New York, with nine cats.
 
Chuck Groenink has illustrated several picture books, among them Santa Clauses: Short Poems from the North Pole by Bob Raczka, The Backwards Birthday Party by Tom Chapin and John Forster, and Under a Pig Tree by Margi Palatini. This is a wonderful story about using one's imagination to come up with ...

My son's 1st grade class is very focused on writing and "being an author" so I was looking for books to encourage him in this task. This is a wonderful story about using one's imagination to come up with story ideas and how time can be very well spent (and fun!) writing stories. We've read this many times, and we find something new to talk about in each reading.

Many will want to visit Rufus's stand

Rufus doesn’t want to have a typical lemonade stand. Instead, he’s decided to make a story stand, giving out stories in exchange for a few small treasures.

What I Loved:
The premise of RUFUS THE WRITER is adorable. I love how creatively encouraging it is for kids. The stories Rufus writers, shared in the book, are very cute and childlike. Rufus encounters many different characters, from his little sister to different friends, at his stand, and each are lovely. His little sister’s story is especially touching since it is her birthday.

Another great element to this story is the lack of money. Rufus doesn’t start the stand to make money, nor does he ask for any from his friends. Instead, he sets up a kind of barter system, exchanging his stories for things like a seashell, a kitten, etc. The story gives value to everything, not just the standard form of currency.

The illustrations are also adorable. Rufus puts on quite the snazzy outfit when he sets up his stand, and his facial expressions are perfection. There are illustrations that accompany the stories Rufus writes as well, giving each one a distinctive flair.

What Left Me Wanting More:
As much as I love Rufus’s stories, I do wish we could see more of his own. The stories take over a significant portion of the book, and some of that time could have been used to explore a little more about the author himself.

Though most of the illustrations are wonderful, some of them are drawn at awkward angles. This is more so when a landscape is involved, instead of just the characters with a white background. Overall though, the illustrations are fabulous.

Final Verdict:
This is the perfect picture for young readers who love being creative. I know I couldn’t pass up stopping at Rufus’s stand!

A good introduction to writing for primary grade kids!

Summary: One summer day, Rufus has an inspiration—instead of a lemonade stand, he’ll have a story stand. He sets up a table with a sign, puts on his best clothes, and is in business. Before long, his friends start to come by and ask him to play, but he keeps telling them he has to write stories. He writes a story about the color orange for his friends who like red and yellow, a story about a new kitten for his friend whose cat just has kittens, and a special birthday story for his little sister. At the end of the day, his friends return with gifts for Rufus, which they give them in exchange for their stories. Grades K-3.

Pros: A celebration of creativity. This would be a great book to introduce the joy of writing to a primary grade classroom.

Cons: At first I thought Rufus’s stories were kind of silly. But a second reading made me realize they are actually very realistic to what a young boy would write.

Dear Reader - I wanted to write an introductory guide about data center moving that not only covered all the technical phases you would encounter but touched on a few of the non-technical details that trip up even the veteran practitioner.

This guide has been decades in the making. It started out as an onboarding handout for clients when I moved my first data center. Improving the information one data center move at a time until finally deciding to collect everything into a coherent guide for everyone.
I've made many of the mistakes I warn you about in this guide. I want these lessons learned to be your lessons remembered.

I'm a DATA CENTER MIGRATION Project Manager. This book is essential for anyone wanting to understand what's involved in the process, as well as good tips for common GOTCHAS that you may not think about.

It's a quick and interesting read. I finished the book in about 2 hours, which is rare for me reading a technical book.

Recommended reading for blending together TDD and Django

It is a TDD book with a strong Django flavor. It assumes a significant understanding of the web development stack HTTP+HTML+CSS except the JS universe which in a way makes sense since using stand alone Django makes you gravitate towards the back-end and generate content through template rendering or responding with JSON data. Your reading speed may drop significantly if you don't grasp key concepts related to those technologies beforehand or your architectural principles differ from the author's. Front-end specialists will definitely prefer other books on front-end frameworks related testing technologies by the same publisher.

The author however is able to construct a compelling narrative for back-end and API development the TDD way which is something I appreciate. As such it reads at times as an interesting developer story and at others as a review of an overwhelmingly commented code. Overall is a good comprehensive read on the subject and particularly so if you come from other back-end frameworks like Flask (my case). Not a masterpiece but definitely a recommended reading these days if you want to blend together TDD and Django.

Very useful book

1. It includes a great refresher about TDD. It could be useful for convince your boss to start using TDD.
2. Author doesn't waste my time, skips some basic topics like Python & Django installation and jumps right into the programming,
3. Author seems to be a practitioner, there isn't too much theory, you can follow provided examples sitting at the computer.

Highly recommended!

Very useful book for professional Django developers like me willing to dive into Test-Driven Development. It doesn't teach you the basics of python or Django. Instead, it focus on its primary topic (TDD) and covers it exhaustively and comprehensively.
Highly recommended for all python/Django web developers interested in Test-Driven Development technology.
