I would not recommend.

There were serious format issues on the kindle version I was reading on my phone. The book would show 3 columns, but one column would not be wide enough and continue onto the next page, making unclear what statement with the statements in the prior two columns. Maybe if this book did not relied on tables so much, I would have given it more stars. But with the formatting problems, I would not recommend.

Valérie Demouy completed her M.A. in teching French at the University of Pau in France. While teaching French in various British institutions, she developed a strong interest in beginner and intermediate levels. Previous reviewer is a bit crazy. How can you brush up on your 'speaking' skills with a beginner's course book? Don't pay attention to him, the Colloquial series is usually very user friendly and very grammar friendly, explaining most grammatical points in a quick, easy to understand manner. And this course book does have A LOT of grammar. Way better than the TY French.

Be careful with the bundle mp3 audio when you buy kindle version.

Kindle Edition: It says "MP3 Pack". I bought the kindle edition thinking that it would provide me with a download link to the mp3 audio.
I never found a link to download the audio, and buying the CD would cost an additional $21.78. Be careful when you place the order and make sure you buy the CD's, I think the kindle version without CD's would not be as effective especially because of need of audio to have the correct pronunciation.

Not the best

I learned French in high school for five years, so I am basically familiar with the language, but I am not comfortable speaking it. I bought this set (with the CDs) to try and brush up on my speaking skills. I was not impressed. The dialogs don't always focus on practical situation--these was one that was a call-in talk show! They also seemed a bit short. I use Audacity to cut out the English from the exercises in language books, and when I was done there wasn't a lot left that was useful.

The Living Languages Ultimate series is not much more expensive, and focuses more on useful dialogs. I would recommend buying that instead.

About the Author
Robert A. Dobie, MD, is clinical professor of otolaryngology at both the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA) and the University of California, Davis, as well as partner in Dobie Associates, providing consultation in hearing, balance, hearing conservation, and ear disorders. After medical school and residency training at Stanford University, Dr. Dobie completed fellowships in auditory physiology and otoneurosurgery. His previous positions included professor at the University of Washington, department chair at UTHSCA and director of extramural research at the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders, National Institutes of Health. He is past president of the Association for Research in Otolaryngology, past chair of the Hearing and Equilibrium Committee of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and has served on the boards and councils of many other professional organizations and scholarly journals. Dr. Dobie’s research interests include age-related and noise-induced hearing loss, hearing conservation, and tinnitus, and he is the author of more than 200 publications.

Robert Dobie’s “Medical-Legal Evaluation of Hearing Loss”, beginning with the First Edition, has been a practical and essential reference text on my desk. As I began providing consultation services within my private practice, I was extremely pleased to learn of the release of the Third Edition. This version provides an updated view into many emerging issues related to occupational hearing loss, diagnostics, recreational hearing loss, forensic audiology, etc. Dr. Dobie’s inclusion of the 2013 revision of ISO-1999 is an especially useful update. Although one can find various sources of information scattered around the Internet, it is extremely helpful to have a consolidated and authoritative source that brings together all aspects of this very complex subject. I highly recommend it for anyone involved in workers’ compensation, disability determination, or forensic activities related to hearing loss.

Susan E. Cartmell is the Senior Minister of the Congregational Church of Needham, Massachusetts. One of the first women to lead a church this size, she has served as senior minister since 1998. A Much Needed Resource

I agree with the premise that the Common Lectionary does not always seem to spiritually feed the people who come church at the present time. A friend of mine once said, "I spent three years going to seminary learning to answer questions that no one has yet asked me." Susan E. Cartmell has given us a needed resource to help communicate the timeless messages contained in the Bible to a post modern age.

Bankruptcy- a rather dense and possibly even boring subject. This book is very much just like any casebook that is used in law school. It is full of cases and long discussions thereafter. I think you have to have an interest or a passion to learn about bankruptcy to thoroughly enjoy the content. However, this textbook gets 3 star because a lot of the cases therein focus on more recent cases and publicly known issues such as the Kmart and GM chapter 11 bankruptcies which makes reading of such tough material a little bit more interesting.

I am German (born & raised) and just received this workbook for my children as to include also the writing/reading part into their learning.
After going over the book I realized that there are a number of spelling errors as well as grammatically incorrect sentence structures and just wrong choice (translation) of words - i will try to personally contact the author to correct these issues.
I am just a tad surprised that educational material is not being verified before publication and sale into the open market.

Very helpful book! I purchased it because I was going to be teaching an elementary-aged class in our co-op, but the class didn't end up on the schedule. I'm still glad I have this book, because I can use it with my own children! The worksheets are fun and helpful, and there are sheets available for a variety of ages and ability levels.

I am using this book to help prepare my children, who are 6,8, and 9 for a move to Germany in a couple of months. They love working on the activities and interactive learning is the best way to learn a language. i just wish that the book was a little thicker.
