A profound work of seeking and creativity.

This work is transportive, a total emersion into the state of exploration. Tumbleweed unpacks the universal need for understanding of both self and surroundings on the enthralling stage of New York City's creative offerings. Both fluent in a widely misunderstood subculture and instinctively accessible to us all, this work inspires questions applicable to the life of anyone with ten fingers and ten toes.

I was pleasantly surprised to find myself turning page after page in this very cool little book

Although I have heard and read more "trip reports" than I care to think about, I was pleasantly surprised to find myself turning page after page in this very cool little book. To begin with, I LOVE the title and wish that I'd thought of it myself. While the Net and book stores are full of trip reports about the so-called heroic doses, the subject of the museum dose has been largely overlooked. As someone who has enjoyed more than one art gallery and museum under the influence of a small dose of psychedelics, I can heartily recommend this fine book.

A great collection of personal aesthetic experiences. While the pharmacology provides the frame, Tumbleweed focuses on his own inner states and sensory experiences while engaging with the art. New York City, that strange and wonderful hyper-artificial world of its own, serves as more than just the setting (for 10 of the 12 essays) as Tumbleweed winds his way through its buildings, transportation, people and weather. For the uninitiated, The Museum Dose offers just enough background information on the chemical compounds involved without overwhelming the reader. A beautiful book!
