Here comes the BOOM!, Here comes the BOOM! This book can be felt from a mile away. How awesome that a book so relevant to the times where folks are stuck in a rut and are suffering because they don't know how to get out. Busting Out Of Mediocrity offers practical real ways to move to the next level in your job, ministry, and life. “BOOM” (Busting Out of Mediocrity). I highly recommend this book to those who have allowed setbacks and life situations to cause them to stumble or stop in their pursuit of achieving their dreams. This book serves as an antidote for loss of vision and focus in that it awakens the reader from dreams imagined to a realization that greatness is within reach if one is willing to invest the time and trust God for the results. The author makes a classic distinction between vision and focus, which is thought provoking. Understanding the distinction between the two is crucial; vision is what is seen; however, focus is what is done with what is seen. Vision, as posited by the author, is more than perception, it encompasses imagination and the will to move beyond what is deemed possible.

The author presents good discussion on seed-planting and harvesting. He challenges the reader to continually take inventory of the kinds of seeds being planted in life’s garden, understanding that harvest reaped is based on harvest sown. The “Ps” in the garden, such as purpose, passion, perseverance, prayer and patience are definitely key in the pursuit of becoming what we were created to become. The author asks very critical questions pertaining to the seeds, such as “Are you planting seeds that will help realize your God-given purpose or are you just meandering through life without consideration or asking the question that should drive your living, “Why am I here?” Is your “purpose” seed growing? Is it established on a firm foundation or did you plant it in stony, unprepared soil? What type of nutrients are you applying to the ground to hold your purpose? Are you watering it often with prayer so it will stand strong when life seems to turn against you? Does your purpose only serve your desires or have you come to understand that God purposes us to serve others?”

This book is an excellent read and is filled with spiritual and practical nuggets that will assist us on our journey to becoming all that we were created to be.

This book catapults the reader to 'greatness' from the first chapter! Bates writes in *The Law of Vision into Focus*, "The BOOM, short for “busting out of mediocrity,” is an explosion of blessings manifested by the convergence of all your ideas, energy, talents, and gifts, detonated by your faith in God". Matthew 9:17 speaks of the day when men (like Christians) have a desire to know more of God 'personally' [aka fasting]... "Nor do people put new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the wine skins burst" ~Matthew 9:17a!! // The *BOOM* was the bursting of my wine skin.
The proceeding eleven chapters explain Laws as guidelines in which to live. I high lighted various nuggets in the book to keep my vision in focus!! Excellent read!!

Ready for a trip to Italy!!

I couldn't have received this at a better time. My husband is Italian and just the other day we were talking about a trip to Italy. This book definitely has given me the basics for understanding the language, how words are formed, what is spoken and even understanding what happens in this culture. This is an easy to understand application of learning the language. I can't wait to incorporate this lesson into our homeschool for our twins. Our daughter is teaching herself Japanese right now. May as well be multilingual. I am confident after reading this book, we will be able to apply what was shared.

Stepping stone

What an inspiring book! It is written based on a true experience by the author. Learning how to speak Italian is not as easy as what you think. But if you’re really aiming to learn the said language then reading this book serves as your stepping stone. The ability to speak different languages is an asset. You can use it as a competitive edge at work that can amaze your employer. I know how to speak Spanish and I am planning to learn Italian too. A couple errors on grammar is normal and you must not let this hinder your desire to learn Italian. A couple tips and strategies from this book will surely help you.

This book was written in a friendly and informal way but was not as complete as I would have liked, even in regard to simple phrases. I ended up buying a small English-Italian dictionary and found it more useful in dealing with life as a visitor in Italy.

I personally found this very helpful as it contains very useful information including its specifications, features and all the cool stuff that the fire stick does. This book seems to have been written by someone who does not speak English very well. I guess there is some good information in there, but I found myself so distracted with trying to decifer what was being said, that I just had to stop reading after about 5 pages. Luckily, I got this book free.

The book is primarily a commercial for the tv stick. It lists the features, but does not describe how to use them. There are many grammar errors. Overall, it was a disappointment and provided little useable info.

Proofreading must've been the AFK editor's job

Author wrote helpful code and concise explanations: YES.
Author proofread his work, ensuring that he included all code, and you wouldn't have to engineer functions he completely left out: NO.

At one point in the book he writes "This will definitely work.". He wrote that immediately after the 2nd instance of completely leaving out where(which Java class) to place this new function.

Another place he left out the update() method he continually refers to. I ended up writing my own.

The author does an excellent job of explaining the concept and describe the development under Android. It covers all the key points you get started developing an application. This is probably one of the best ways to begin programming on Android application, which I personally found him, he taught me and helped a lot. This book impressed me is the ability to code almost line by line, and get the working game. This is a good everyday step by step approach. The book tells you exactly what to do and goes about why you are doing what you are doing.
